BEYOND THE LIGHTFLOW

"No man ever steps in the same river twice." - Ancient Greek Philosopher, Herákleitos

Thousands of years ago, the ancient philosopher Herakleitos had an insight into the nature of life and the operation of all things through the phenomenon of flowing water. Everything is flowing and changing, creating and dying in the change of time, just like the continuous flow of water, which also means that due to the changing state of time, everything exists and does not exist.

The river in the famous quotation has been transformed into a digital torrent carrying thousands of bits in modern times. Bast interprets the philosophical thoughts with "light", reflecting the close interactions of man and technology in the digital age.

The continuous flow of water is depicted through "light". When the viewer steps into it, it will trigger the flow of the light wave, ripples will appear immediately, and there will be a linkage and entanglement between people and light. Changing patterns follow. The optical flow domain can also flexibly shape its forms through "modularization", and freely scale the boundaries of the space so that it can be naturally integrated into various spaces and environments.

In this digital torrent, human beings are transformed into levels of digital characters, and after penetrating the appearance of light, we both exist and cease to exist.

千年前，古哲人從水體流淌的現象，洞悉生命、萬物運行的本質。所有一切，皆在流動與改變，在時間更迭間創造生滅，猶如水體不斷迴流，這也意味：因時時的變動狀態，萬物既存在，亦不存在。

哲人口中那條河，在現代幻化為乘載萬千位元的數位洪流。Bast 以「光」詮釋哲人思想，反應數位時代下人與科技的緊密脈動。

Beyond the lightflow 光流域透過「光」描繪不斷流動的水域，當觀者踏入其中，將觸發水體的流淌，水紋波痕即刻泛起，人與光之間產生連動、交纏的變動狀態。光流域更可以透過「模組化」彈性組合其樣態，自由縮放流域的疆界，使其自然地融入於各式空間及環境中。

身處這條數位巨流中，人化身為重重的數位字元，而在穿透光的表象後，我們既存在，亦不復存在。
